California Driver Education
- Take this course to receive your DMV Pink Slip (DL 387).
- Once you complete this course, you will be eligible to take your written permit test.
- You must be at least 15½ years old in order to apply for your provisional instruction permit.
The California Drivers License Course is Licensed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles to meet the 30-hour classroom course requirement

In order to complete the California Teen Driver Ed Course, you must take a final exam. This exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions. You only need to score 80% on the exam in order to receive your Pink Slip (DL 387). You may retake the final exam as many times as you need in order to do so.

Once you pass the final exam, your Pink Slip (DL 387) will be mailed to you. Present this form to the DMV in order to take your written permit test.
